| Artists’ association presents oil painting showcase with Sharon Weaver

The Santa Clarita Artists Association is pleased to present an oil painting demonstration by Sharon Weaver on February 21, 2022.

“After moving to Southern California, I was inspired by the Californian Impressionists who opened my eyes to the beauty of the landscape. My first teacher showed me how to paint outdoors, ”Weaver said. His understanding of nature combined with his talent for drawing create unforgettable images. Its strong compositions and unique colors are a feast for the eyes.

A member of the California Art Club, Weaver served on the jury for the 20th Annual National Oil Painters of America Exhibition and won an award at the Carmel Art Festival. She is a founding member of PAC6 Painters, a group dedicated to painting the beauty of the West. A painting trip with the PAC6 in the Eastern Sierras gave rise to a museum exhibition at the Santa Paula Art Museum and several gallery exhibitions.

Weaver’s art was featured in a four-page article in Plein Air Magazine titled Breaking Through SWalls of Dissatisfaction. She currently teaches a landscape course at the Kline Academy of Fine Art. She continues her love of outdoor painting with a monthly on-site class in the Los Angeles area. See: www.

SCAA demonstrations are now held in person at the Main Theater in the Arts District in Newhall, and non-members can attend for free. Demos will always take place on the 3rd Monday of each month from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
