Pierogi sale and painting raffle | Local announcements

HUDSON — St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 206 Union St., Hudson, is holding its homemade Pierogi sale from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Nov. 19. Varieties include stuffed potatoes and cheese and stuffed sauerkraut. Pierogis will be available both by advance order and at the door.

Additionally, a 16 x 20 framed original painting, “Skating at Checkered Bridge”, by local artist Joseph Holodook will be raffled off on the day of the pierogi sale. Holodook is represented by Porterfield’s Fine Art and has been licensed extensively by Hallmark, Leanin’ Tree, Ravensburger, UNICEF and many more. His work is part of private and corporate collections. About this painting he says: “This image invites the viewer to enter a place far from fear and worry. A sense of community, family and friends coming together to brave the chills of winter, whether it’s a kid’s first time skating or a former pro showing off their prowess to the next generation. You may fall, but rest assured that there is someone to help you get back on your feet. Trusted old friends and new lovers gather here to close the distance between them. “
