Paint an art trail through downtown Glens Falls
GLENS FALLS, NY (NEWS10) – If you walk, bike, or drive through downtown Glens Falls, you might spot a painter or two putting the finishing touches on new pieces of pride and local beauty. The city commissioned artists to paint electrical boxes downtown.
The goal is to add artistic beauty to the city’s burgeoning arts district. In time, art will be joined by banners, bike racks and sidewalk stamps that all line the path between 10 art destinations, like the Hyde Museum and the Chapman Museum, and 14 art organizations and councils.
Over the summer, the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council issued a call to find artists who could complete the projects by October 31. By Thursday, some were all finished, while others awaited their final touches. From the friendly pet faces to the landmarks of the town of Glens Falls, the art on display along Bay, Glen, Warren and Ridge Streets is accessible to everyone.
