LEGO meets architecture in these innovative and detailed constructions by master builders!


Remember when we spent our summer vacation and free time after school playing with LEGO blocks, and sometimes painfully stepping on them with our feet? Fun times, right? But, LEGO is no longer considered child’s play! Master builders, artists and LEGO enthusiasts around the world create awesome LEGO constructions that will blow your mind. And my favorite type of LEGO builds is the stunning architecture! These architectural constructions are the result of hours of dedication, attention to detail, hard work and creativity. They can be thought of as works of art, and I love to scroll through these creations, admire them and feel an intense wave of satisfaction at their perfection. And we’ve put together the best of the bunch to get you drooling and gaga!

Using over 100,000 LEGO pieces, designer Ekow Nimako imagines the Kumbi Saleh 3020 CE a Ghanaian metropolis 1000 years in the future. This piece of art is the centerpiece of his exhibit titled Building Black Civilizations and features details like you’ve never seen before, almost reminiscent of the title sequence from Game of Thrones!

Speaking of magnanimous Game of Thrones-style scenes, Chicago-based architect Rocco Buttliere showed off his detailed skills and love of architecture with this purple Forbidden City! Borrowing from the historic ages of Chinese royalty, the design features a Hall of Supreme Harmony. Speaking of building this design, the designer said, “Finally, and probably the most informative for myself and perhaps others in this time of uncertainty, here are a few words in particular from a famous Laozi proverb that made me wait impatiently during this four month endeavor. : A journey of a thousand kilometers begins with one step.

This LEGO creation is essentially Cyberpunk architecture brought to life! The attention to detail, the use of multiple colors and the imposing height make this structure a complete eye-catcher. LEGO fanatic @ geng_3dboy even added miniature cars and buses to his artwork. I love automotive details!

Benedek Lampert’s love for photography and LEGOs can be seen in this fall scene that brings a mystical forest to life. In fact, the image is so vivid that it could easily belong to one of the scenes in JRR Tolkien’s epic novels! And you know, these little adventurers walking towards the mystical tree could easily be the ring bearers on their quest!

The largest LEGO set ever created is an accurate and stunning replica of the Colosseum! The intricate design, attention to detail and medieval feel brings me straight back to the streets of Rome. This one is a must-have for all history fanatics!

This dystopian cyberpunk build is incredibly detailed. Built by @insomniabuilds, this chaotic little world includes everything – from ramshackle houses to quirky humans from the future! Could this be a possible future for all of us?

A detailed mini kingdom fit for LEGO royalty! An impressive castle with majestic turrets is surrounded by a small body of water, with a ship in its port. Built by @zilmrud, the royal kingdom also features small palm trees and a waterfall!

We take a trip to medieval times with The Blacksmith! It includes a well-stocked workshop filled with tools, coals, and armor, with a detailed landscape. In fact, the coals even shine!

This one is for all Harry Potter fans! This incredibly realistic Hogwarts building features moving stairs and real figures as paintings! How cool is this one?

The iconic Daily Bugle desk has come into LEGO life! From a newsstand to a star cast of Marvel’s most famous heroes and villains, the build is detailed, lively, and super fun.
