IAG’s website, asgam.com, is rolling out additional IT architecture over the weekend, operating faster and more efficiently
regular users of AGIWebsite asgam.com should be forgiven for suspecting that Asia’s premier gaming news website is running much faster than usual as of today – because it is.
Since its launch 17 years ago in 2005, the asgam.com website has steadily grown in volume of traffic and content. This naturally results in an increase in opportunistic cyberattacks, which affect all websites with significant levels of traffic.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, AGIThe IT team at asgam.com successfully migrated to a new operating environment with page load times reduced by around 45%, meaning the site is running almost twice as fast as before, and that more speed improvements are expected to roll out in the coming weeks.
The new environment is also more robust, with dual redundancy, which means the website not only has backup delivery capability, but there is backup backup, so three independent systems need to crash before the website goes offline.
“We have made tremendous efforts to grow our digital presence, especially over the past five years,” said Andrew W Scott, Vice President and CEO of IAG.
“Since 2017, we’ve grown asgam.com from around 500,000 pageviews per year to over 5 million pageviews per year, which is a very healthy number for an industry-specific B2B medium like ours. . These days, it’s not uncommon for a popular story on asgam.com to have tens of thousands of page views. Our overall monthly digital audience has grown to around a quarter of a million people.
“I’m thrilled to see the improvements our IT team rolled out over the weekend, and I look forward to a faster, more resilient solution. asgam.com for our readers to enjoy in the future.
