Carnival Luminosa special features include a unique sculpt
The Costa Luminosa is now branded Carnival Cruise Line with new colors and is expected to begin service to Australia soon, departing from Brisbane.
The new Carnival ship also has a number of unique features.
Found only on the Carnival Luminosa and serving as the centerpiece of the 10-deck high atrium is a particularly monumental bronze sculpture entitled “Reclining Woman 2004” which was commissioned especially for this ship from the Colombian artist of world famous Fernando Botero.
The multimillion-dollar sculpture, measuring over 11 feet long and weighing almost a ton, depicts a female figure, daydreaming in a reclining position with a subtle, ironic facial expression.
According to the company, other unique features include a two-deck sliding sky dome above the ship’s large pool deck, allowing the area to be used in all types of weather; a collection of 120 Murano glass lamps and chandeliers; and a sunset bar perfect for enjoying a drink in an enchanting atmosphere.
“While Carnival Luminosa will feel like a Carnival ship through and through with our signature service and offerings, the ship will offer its own unique features that our guests will love,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
The ship will also include one of the largest spas in the fleet spanning two decks with one of the largest thermal areas, as well as a large casino with beautiful sea views, nearly 200 new machines slots for all tastes, a variety of table games and a nearby arcade with games for patrons of all ages.
The Carnival Luminosa will be the first Carnival ship to be home-ported in Brisbane, Australia, with a variety of itineraries beginning Nov. 6, 2022 and continuing through April 13, 2023. The ship will then reposition for seasonal service from Seattle to Alaska. May.
